In 1870 the „Harzer Werke zu Rübeland und Zorge“ were set up in one of the most beautiful regions of the Harz mountains. Over the years, the company has developed into one of the largest grey cast foundries in Germany, whose reputation has spread far beyond national boundaries.

In recent years, the herefrom emerged „Harzer Werke Motorentechnik GmbH“ specialized on manufacturing high-qauality centrifugally cast products for the engine industry.
Modern and efficient facilities come into operation to produce cylinder liners and other engine parts from alloyed grey cast, which are, after precise conditioning, supplied worldwide ready-to-install.
